Oh! Christmas is just around the corner. I know, I know! Halloween and Thanksgiving haven’t even hit but this is the time of year I begin my elf on the shelf planning calendar. I spend all year pinning cute ideas I find off Pinterest that I haven’t done in previous years, then plan them out from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. I have my staple activities I incorporate each year, such as making cookies for the neighborhood, writing a letter to Santa, gathering a food donation bag, and of course going over what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. The other days are all about mischief and surprise!
Each year, I print myself out a blank November and December calendar. Then, begins the planning fun! I fill in each day with an ideas,as well as, try to make easy days during week. Because you know there are some days you’re just tired and shoving him the blender as an idea with a help sign takes all the energy you have left in you. So, after I plan each day, I make my list of what I may need to make or buy for each day. Some days it’s buy mini marshmellows, other days it’s build a rocket ship. Nonetheless, by the end, I am prepared for the Elf to arrive and ready to tackle moving him each day. I love the excitement it brings to my boys and to be quite honest I have a ball creating the surprises each day. Below are some of ideas from last year.
