  • Honoring Our Veterans: A Heartfelt Thank You for Their Sacrifice and Service

Honoring Our Veterans: A Heartfelt Thank You for Their Sacrifice and Service

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who have served in the armed forces, dedicating their lives to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Veterans Day is a time to remember that the freedoms we enjoy come at a tremendous cost, borne by those who have served on the frontlines and their families who stand behind them.

To every veteran, we express our deepest gratitude for your bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our nation. Your service has kept our country safe, upheld our values, and ensured that future generations can live in peace and freedom. From enduring long deployments to facing unimaginable challenges, you have shown resilience, strength, and courage that inspire us all.

On this day, let us remember that honoring veterans is not just about a single moment of gratitude, but about fostering a community that respects, supports, and cares for those who have served. Whether it’s through volunteering, supporting veterans’ organizations, or simply extending a hand of friendship, there are many ways we can give back to those who have given so much.

As we reflect on the sacrifices of our veterans, may we also remember their families and loved ones who have shared in the journey. Their support and strength have been just as critical to our nation’s security.

To our veterans and their families: thank you for your service, your dedication, and the many sacrifices you have made. May we never take for granted the freedoms you have fought to protect. Today, we honor you, but every day, we are grateful for all you have done and continue to do.

  • Spread Kindness All Month Long with the Thankful Cards Game!

Spread Kindness All Month Long with the Thankful Cards Game!

November is the perfect time to reflect on everything we’re grateful for, and this year, I’m excited to share a new tradition that helps us do just that! Introducing the Thankful Cards game—a simple, heartfelt way to express gratitude to those around us. This activity is easy, fun, and a beautiful way to lift each other up throughout the month. It’s perfect for families, classrooms, or even as a solo activity if you’re looking to spread kindness in your daily routine.

How to Play the Thankful Cards Game

    1. Get Your Cards Ready: I’ve created some special Thankful Cards you can print at home! You can download the PDF [here], or feel free to use any notecard you have on hand. These cards are designed to make the process easy and fun, with plenty of room to write your message.
    2. Set Your Intentions: Each day in November, pick one person to give a Thankful Card to. Think about what you appreciate most about that person—it can be anything from their kindness, their sense of humor, or even something they did that made a difference in your day.
    3. Write Your Message: Take a moment to write down why you’re grateful. Maybe it’s a small act, like a friend checking in with you, or something bigger, like a family member supporting you through a tough time. These little details are often the ones we overlook, so the Thankful Card is your chance to acknowledge them.
    4. Deliver the Card: Hand the card to the person, or leave it somewhere they’ll find it as a surprise. There’s something truly special about receiving a note of appreciation when it’s least expected.
    5. Reflect on Your Month: As November goes on, take a moment to look back at all the gratitude you’ve spread. This tradition is an incredible way to ground yourself in kindness and remind yourself of the beauty of connection.

Why the Thankful Cards Game Matters

In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to forget to stop and express our gratitude. The Thankful Cards game helps us slow down and put our appreciation into words, making us more intentional about the relationships that shape our lives. It’s also a wonderful way to show others how much they mean to us, sparking happiness on both sides!

Whether you’re playing this game with your family, friends, students, or colleagues, it’s sure to bring a little extra warmth and joy to each day in November.

    Ready to Join the Fun?

Download the PDF [here] and start your Thankful Cards journey today! Let’s make this November a month filled with gratitude, kindness, and connection. 🌟

  • Celebrate Gratitude with the Thankful Pumpkin Game!

Celebrate Gratitude with the Thankful Pumpkin Game!

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and what better way to welcome the season than with a family tradition that celebrates all the little things we’re grateful for? The Thankful Pumpkin game is a fun, creative, and heartfelt activity that the whole family can enjoy. Plus, by the end of the month, you’ll have a pumpkin covered in words of gratitude—an inspiring centerpiece that’s perfect for Thanksgiving dinner!

How to Play the Thankful Pumpkin Game

    1. Get Your Pumpkin: Choose a pumpkin of any size—it can be as small or as large as you like! If you’re using a larger pumpkin, it might even last as a lovely centerpiece for several weeks.
    2. Choose Your Markers: Grab a permanent marker or paint pen, ideally in a color that will stand out. Consider using different colors if you want each family member to have their own shade, adding a personalized touch.
    3. Daily Gratitude: Each day in November, gather as a family and take turns adding a note of gratitude to the pumpkin. It could be something simple, like “sunny days,” or more personal, like “our family dinners.” Encourage everyone to be specific and think of something unique each day.
    4. Watch the Pumpkin Grow with Gratitude: As the days go by, your pumpkin will fill up with words of thanks and love. By the end of the month, it’ll be covered with little moments and blessings you’ve appreciated together.
    5. Use It as a Thanksgiving Centerpiece: On Thanksgiving Day, place your Thankful Pumpkin at the center of the table. Read out some of the things your family has written to celebrate the abundance of gratitude you’ve shared throughout the month.

Why the Thankful Pumpkin Game is So Meaningful

This tradition not only encourages daily reflection but also brings the family together in a truly special way. With each day’s addition, you’ll be reminded of the many blessings you might otherwise overlook. It’s a powerful way to see how much joy and connection can come from the simple act of recognizing and sharing gratitude.

Ideas for Getting Creative with the Thankful Pumpkin

    • Make it a Family Event: Have a weekly family gathering to add multiple notes at once. This can be a great way to kick off each week with gratitude!
    • Decorate Around the Words: Kids may enjoy adding small drawings, doodles, or patterns around the words, making the pumpkin as colorful as their appreciation.
    • Invite Guests to Add Their Gratitude: If you have friends or extended family over, invite them to add to your Thankful Pumpkin too. It’s a wonderful way to share the tradition with others.

  • Fall Lanterns

    Fall Lanterns

Bring the Warm Glow of Autumn Indoors with This Easy Fall Craft

Fall is the perfect season for crafting with your kids, and what better way to celebrate the changing leaves than by creating beautiful Fall Leaf Lanterns? These glowing lanterns not only add a cozy, rustic touch to your home decor but also allow you to get outside, collect leaves, and enjoy some fresh air with your little ones.

This craft is simple, inexpensive, and a great way to keep your kids entertained on a chilly autumn afternoon. Plus, it’s a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together while making something beautiful for your home.

    Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Clean glass jars (mason jars work wonderfully)
    • Mod Podge or clear glue
    • A paintbrush
    • Colorful fall leaves (real or fabric/paper ones from a craft store)
    • Small LED candles

    Step-by-Step Instructions:

    1. Prep Your Jar
Start by making sure your glass jar is clean and dry. This will help the leaves adhere smoothly to the surface.
    2. Apply Mod Podge
Using a paintbrush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or clear glue to the outside of the jar. Be sure to cover the entire surface where you want the leaves to stick.
    3. Add Your Leaves
Next, press your leaves onto the jar. If you’re using real leaves, try to choose ones that are fairly flat and dry. Arrange them in any pattern you like—overlap them for a layered look, or space them out for a minimalist design.
    4. Seal the Leaves
Once you’re happy with the arrangement, paint another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the leaves. This will help seal them in place and give the lantern a nice glossy finish.
    5. Let It Dry
Allow the jar to dry completely—this may take a few hours depending on how thick the Mod Podge is. You can speed up the process by placing the jar in a warm, dry spot.
    6. Add the Light
Once everything is dry, place a small LED candle inside your jar. Real candles are not recommended since the heat could damage the glue or leaves.

Now, sit back and enjoy the warm, cozy glow of your handmade lantern! These look beautiful placed on a windowsill, as part of a table centerpiece, or even lining your porch steps for a warm welcome to guests.

Why This Craft is Great for Kids:

Not only does this project help develop your child’s creativity and fine motor skills, but it also encourages them to engage with nature. Collecting the leaves can be an adventure all on its own, sparking curiosity about the different colors and shapes of autumn foliage.

Tip for Parents: Make it even more fun by having a “leaf hunt” with your kids before you start crafting. Head to a local park or take a stroll around the neighborhood, and let your kids pick their favorite leaves to use in their lanterns. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature and extend the activity beyond the craft table.

Enjoy this simple, seasonal project with your family, and embrace the magic of autumn with these charming Fall Leaf Lanterns!

  • Hunter’s Moon in Aries: Releasing Fear and Embracing Bold New Beginnings

Hunter’s Moon in Aries: Releasing Fear and Embracing Bold New Beginnings

As we welcome the Hunter’s Moon today, we enter a powerful time of transition and reflection. Traditionally, the Hunter’s Moon marks a period of preparation, when hunters gathered food in anticipation of the coming winter. It is a time to finish what was started during the Harvest Moon, while also setting our sights on the future. This year, the Hunter’s Moon occurs in the fiery sign of Aries, bringing with it a burst of energy and boldness that invites us to act, take charge, and move forward with courage.

Aries, a cardinal fire sign, is known for its pioneering spirit, leadership, and willingness to jump into new endeavors. When the full moon falls under this sign, it ignites within us the desire to act, assert ourselves, and face challenges head-on. This is not a time for waiting or hesitation—it’s about taking that leap you’ve been contemplating. The energy of this full moon encourages bold moves, quick decisions, and embracing the unknown.

However, with this fire also comes the potential for impulsiveness. It’s important to channel Aries’ fierce energy mindfully, using it to fuel your passions without rushing into something without thought. This full moon calls us to find the balance between action and consideration, between courage and wisdom.

The full moon is always a time of release, and under Aries, we are encouraged to let go of anything holding us back from stepping into our full power. This could be fear, self-doubt, or even anger that has been building up. Aries, ruled by Mars, can bring up fiery emotions like frustration or impatience, but this moon is a chance to release these feelings in a productive way.

Now is the time to let go of indecision, procrastination, and fear of failure. If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure of how to proceed, this moon asks you to shed those limiting beliefs. Let go of anything that is preventing you from pursuing your dreams or asserting your true self.

With Aries’ influence, this full moon is a powerful moment to set intentions that focus on bold new beginnings. Ask yourself, what areas of your life need a spark of energy? Where can you be more assertive or independent? This is the time to take charge of your goals and decide how you want to move forward.

Aries energy thrives on independence and self-confidence, so use this time to reflect on how you can become a stronger, more empowered version of yourself. Whether it’s starting a new project, committing to a personal goal, or stepping into a leadership role, set intentions that align with this courageous, forward-moving energy.

Write down your intentions clearly and with confidence, allowing the fiery energy of Aries to fuel your ambition. This is not about setting safe or small goals—this is a time to think big, act boldly, and embrace the unknown.

To harness the power of this Hunter’s Moon in Aries, consider engaging in rituals or activities that embody the qualities of courage and independence. Some ideas include:

    • Journaling: Reflect on what fears or limiting beliefs you need to let go of and what bold new steps you want to take. Write out your intentions for this next cycle.

    • Physical Activity: Aries rules the body and physical strength, so moving your body—whether through exercise, yoga, or a simple walk—can help you tap into this powerful energy.

    • Lighting a Fire or Candles: Symbolize the Aries fire element by lighting candles or a small bonfire. As you watch the flames, visualize your fears burning away and your intentions igniting.

    • Affirmations: Create affirmations that encourage bravery and assertiveness, such as “I embrace my inner strength and move forward with confidence” or “I release fear and step into my power.”

As the light of the Hunter’s Moon illuminates the sky, let it also illuminate your path forward. This is a time to embrace your inner warrior, to be brave in the face of uncertainty, and to move boldly toward your dreams. Let go of what no longer serves you, and step into this new cycle with the confidence and passion that Aries inspires.

Remember, this is not a time for small moves—this is a time for bold, fearless action. What will you release under the light of this full moon, and what bold intentions will you set as you move forward?

  • Elf Planning: 45 Days to Go! Have You Started Yet?

Elf Planning: 45 Days to Go! Have You Started Yet?

It’s hard to believe, but we’re just 45 days away from the elves making their grand return! 🎄 Have you started planning your calendar with your elf (or elves) yet? Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the elf game, the countdown to Christmas is the perfect time to start preparing for a magical and meaningful season. Here’s how you can get organized and make the most of your elf’s visit this year!

    1. Set a Theme for the Season

Do you want your elf’s antics to focus on kindness, fun, learning, or a mix of everything? Choose a theme that fits your family’s values and interests to help guide your planning.

    2. Create a Calendar

Sit down and sketch out a day-by-day plan for your elf’s activities. Knowing what your elf will do ahead of time saves stress and keeps the magic alive. Think about which days are good for simple setups versus days you can go all out!

    3. Incorporate Acts of Kindness

Our elves love to bring in the true meaning of Christmas, and one way they do that is through acts of kindness. Plan days where your elf encourages giving back to the community, like donating toys, sharing treats, or doing good deeds.

    4. Plan Learning Moments

Elves can be fun and educational! Science experiments, reading challenges, and even math games can keep your little ones entertained while they learn.

    5. Include Crafts and Baking

Get creative with crafts and baking! Have your elf bring supplies to make holiday ornaments, decorate cookies, or build a gingerbread house. The possibilities are endless!

    6. Add in Some Goofiness

Of course, no elf season is complete without a little elf mischief! From silly pranks to funny poses, make sure to have some lighthearted, laugh-out-loud moments to keep the kids guessing what your elf will do next.

    7. Keep Things Manageable

It’s easy to get overwhelmed, so don’t feel like every day has to be a big production. Plan a mix of elaborate setups and easy days where your elf simply moves to a new spot or leaves a small note.

Need Help With Your Elf Planning?

If you’re looking for more inspiration or want to simplify your planning, my book “Elves on a Mission” can be a great tool to help you plan a fun-filled, magical elfin season. It’s packed with ideas to make your elf’s visit extra special and heartwarming for your family.
