Prepping for the Elf to Arrive

Who has their Elf on the Shelf calendars already planned out for this year? Every year around this time, I begin to pull all of my ideas I’ve saved throughout the year for my Elf on the Shelf calendar.

Planning out all of the elf dates makes life so much easier to stay on top of moving the elf each day. By making the calendar, I am able to plan what I need to make, what toys I need handy, and if I need to buy anything at the store for that week of mischief. I try to balance out the days too. If you have too many ideas that need things constructed or put together, you can get burnt out easily. I also like to plan out easy extra ideas, for days that you are just exhausted but still need to move the elf somewhere. Each year, I want the boys to understand the importance of giving back so I make sure the Elf has days where we do projects that give back to the community such as, buying a toy for Toys for Tots, gather canned food for the Food Bank, or make cookies to deliver to the neighborhood. I will be posting my Elf on the Shelf ideas from last year in the next couple of days. Until then, check out my ideas from years before. Below are the links to my Elf on the Shelf ideas from previous years:
