DIY Advent Calendar

Christmas is one of my favorite times to craft. I love to work on projects with my boys but I also love to make them surprises. I’ve done this project for two years now. When I was growing up, my parents would always buy me the advent calendars with a chocolate behind each daily square. Those are great but honestly my boys don’t need chocolate every day. As well as, there’s no surprise to what is behind door number 2,3, or 4 once you’ve opened up door number 1. So, I decided to make my own. I normally hit up the different shops with Christmas trinkets. Last year as well as this year, the best and most exciting item has been Christmas temporary tattoos. Once I have all of my surprises, you need minimal supplies and a little creativity to make your advent calendar.

Surprises

Each year I have done a different theme. I give the boys theirs on the 1st Day of Christmas, December 1st. They get to open one surprise each day. It’s a fun tradition to have. Would love to see your creative ideas for your advent calendar. Post in my comments your DIY Advent Calendars. 1. I buy Christmas stamps, stickers, bouncy balls, tattoos, mini yo-yos, slime, bubbles, Santa Springing toys, mini slinkies, and a couple days have chocolate candies.
