Turkey Pumpkins

Give me a reason in the fall to decorate a pumpkin and I’m on it! From my last post, I created a DIY Pumpkin Succulent Centerpiece. But, I can never have all of the fun decorating the house for Thanksgiving. The boys saw my Succulent Pumpkin and wanted to make a pumpkin for Thanksgiving as well. So with a few craft supplies, I had on hand we decide to create our Turkey Pumpkins. They had a blast creating them and giving them “flare.”

Turkey Pumpkins

You’ll Need:

1 Sugar Pie Pumpkin

Felt (Varied fall colors)

Googly Eyes

Feathers

Fall Ribbon

Varied Craft Items (sequins, Pom poms, fake fall leaves, beads, etc.)

Hot Glue

Elmer’s Glue

Scissors

How To:

Wash the outside of your Sugar Pie Pumpkin and wipe dry. With your felt (using whatever color your kiddos pick out), cut out a turkey body, five tail feathers, a beak, and a turkey snood. Then, have you kids tell you how they want everything placed, then hot glue the tail feathers, body, beak and snood onto the pumpkin. Once that is complete, let them glue the eyes, ribbon, and other craft items onto the turkey however they would like. And Tada! They have made a Turkey Pumpkin!

Nothing like a Turkey with a little extra Flare!

Happy Thanksgiving!
