Fall Crafts on a Budget

My boys love to be artsy. Since they are only 4 and 2 it makes it easy to keep them entertained on a budget. Construction paper and a few items from Dollar Tree goes a long way. Here’s a few ideas to be able to keep your kiddos busy this fall, add some festive decor to your house and keep their creative minds working.

1. Halloween Monster Cats:

Supplies:

Construction Paper

Glue Sticks

Googly Eyes

Markers

How to:

Cut out a cat head, fangs, nose, and tongue out of construction paper.

I made an example of what they could make then let their creativity go wild.

Use markers to draw the ears and mouth. Glue on nose, eyes, tongue, and fangs. Each had there own I idea of how to design their monster cats. Obviously, lots of eyes were needed.

2. No Noggins

My boys love Curious George. One of their favorites is Boo Fest. So we decided to make our own No Noggins to celebrate and then of course we had to watch Boo Fest afterwards with our crafted No Noggins.

Supplies:

Small Pumpkin

Googly Eyes

Construction Paper

Markers

How to:

Glue eyes onto pumpkin. Draw mouth and nose with markers. Cut 4 strips of construction paper for the arms and legs. Color arms and legs. Cut out hat for pumpkin and straw hands and feet for No Noggin out of Construction Paper. Fold strips of paper for arms and legs in a zigzag. Glue straw hands and feet on arms and legs. Glue hat onto pumpkin, then glue arms and legs on pumpkin.

3. Pumpkin Decorating Kits

I love that Dollar Tree has these easy pumpkin decorating sets. The boys picked out Mummy Decorating Sets but there was a variety from Mummies to Kitty Cats to Bats.

Supplies:

Medium Pumpkin

Pumpkin Decorating Kit

How to:

Follow directions of the kits then let their imaginations run wild.

4. Fall Wreaths

I love Fall! One of my favorite seasons because of the leaves changing and the cooler weather. I love to decorate the house in fall decor so I figured what better way than to let the boys make fall wreaths.

Supplies:

Poster Board

Fake leaves

Decorative Ribbon

Glue

How to:

Cut wreath out of poster board. I used a dinner plate to trace outer wreath then a salad plate to trace for center of the wreath. Glue fake leaves all over wreath. Glue Decorative Ribbon around wreath for a hanger.

5. Frankenstein Leaf Man

With the center of Leaf Wreaths leftover, I cut out a head for the boys to make Frankenstein Leaf Men.

Supplies:

Poster board

Poof balls

Googly Eyes

Fake leaves

Markers

Glue

How to:

Cut face shape out of poster board. Glue on eyes and poof balls for nose. Use markers to decorate and draw on mouth. Glue on fake leaves for hair.

6. Decorate

One thing my boys love to do is decorate. With a few items from Dollar Tree, a little creativity, and tape, you can spruce you house up for Fall or Halloween.

7. Bake, Bake, and More Baking
