You can make one of these in about 15-20 minutes. Minimal supplies are required. The two designs I will show are for a Reindeer and Snowman Ornament. But, with just a little creativity, the possibilities are endless.

DIY Cork Ornament

You’ll need:

1-2 Corks

Christmas Ribbon

White Paint

Paintbrush

Knife

Scissors

Googly Eyes

Permanent Markers (Black & Orange)

Pipe Cleaners

Ornament Hooks

Hot glue

Pom Poms

Felt

How tos:

Reindeer Ornament: Cut an 1/8 inch round slice off of the end of a cork. With a full size cork, hot glue the 1/8 in round onto the bottom half of the full size cork, leaving a 1/4 in from the bottom. This is the reindeers nose & mouth. With a black marker, draw a smile on the 1/8 in round. Hot glue Pom Pom on 1/8 in round for nose. Hot glue googly eyes above 1/8 in round. With a pipe cleaner, bend it into antlers. Hot glue antlers onto top of cork. Cut two small tear drop shaped pieces out of felt, then hot glue on both sides of the top of the Cork. These are the reindeers ears. Hot glue Christmas ribbon around bottom of cork to make scarf. Cut slits in the ends of the ribbon to make the ribbon look like a scarf. Loop ornament hook around antlers to be able to hang ornament.

Snowman Ornament: Paint entire Cork with white paint. Let dry. Once dry, hot glue Christmas ribbon around bottom of painted cork. Cut slit in ends of ribbon to make your scarf. With a 1 1/2 in piece of pipe cleaner, arch over top of Cork and hot glue. Hot Glue a Pom Pom to each side of Cork over pipe cleaner ends. This will make your earmuffs. With a black marker, draw coal eyes and smile. With an orange marker, draw carrot nose. Loop ornament hook around pipe cleaner earmuffs to hang ornament.
